Diary Entry: 3 May, 2017
Today was the final LLM graduation photo. We all gathered on the main quad, and the professors joined us, arranging themselves in the front row. It’s strange to see them all smiling and relaxed outside of a classroom or office.
As we were waiting for the photographer to get organized, I saw the Dean standing off to the side. He was talking with the Restitution professor. They were both smiling, looking very pleased.
I was standing close enough to overhear them. The professor must have made a comment about the students, because I heard the Dean laugh and reply that he didn’t know foreigners were so interested in restitution and unjust enrichment. What, are Americans the only ones who like undeserved windfalls?
